CHRISTMAS DAY WINE BOX
The wines in this box are fit for a Chairman, or
indeed a king, this Christmas Day.
The celebrations begin with Jean Pol Haut
Bois, a grower Champagne. Unlike the big
houses, a grower tends the vines, makes the
wine and bottles it themselves, giving them
complete control over the quality in the glass.
From there, the selection meanders through
some of Europe's finest regions, starting with
two elegant whites, a crisp white Burgundy
and Domaine Alary’s La Gerbaude from the
Rhône, both wonderfully versatile at the
Christmas table. For the reds, there's a SaintÉmilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux and a
Chianti Classico Riserva from Ruffino, one of
Tuscany's great producers, both with the
character and depth to stand up to Christmas
dinner.
